The homeowner wanted to transform an underperforming west-facing garden bed into a vibrant landscape feature that would provide color, texture, and interest throughout the growing season. Poor soil conditions and drainage concerns had limited plant performance, and the existing bed lacked structure and visual impact. Our goal was to create a professionally designed planting layout that felt full and intentional while remaining easy to maintain and attractive for years to come.
To achieve this, we designed a layered mass planting featuring native pollinator plants like May Night Salvia, Coneflowers, and more. The soil was heavily amended with organic materials and slow-release fertilizer to improve drainage and support long-term plant health. Approximately 60 plants were carefully arranged to provide repetition, balance, and continuous seasonal color. The finished garden now offers a striking combination of structure, texture, and pollinator-friendly blooms while maintaining a clean, polished appearance that will continue to improve as the landscape matures.
