This Nichols Hills homeowner wanted to enjoy their backyard long after the sun went down. Earlier in the year, we suggested that a thoughtfully designed outdoor lighting system could dramatically enhance the space, especially given the home's large windows overlooking the landscape. Before the installation, the backyard disappeared into darkness at night, making it impossible to appreciate the mature trees, garden beds, and overall beauty of the property after sunset.
Our team designed and installed a subtle, high-end lighting system focused on creating ambiance rather than overwhelming brightness. Three uplights were installed on columnar oak trees and two additional uplights were placed on crape myrtles to create depth, highlight key focal points, and cast dramatic shadows across the fence. The system is fully automated, smartphone controlled, and integrated with the home's security lighting. We also installed conduit beneath the lawn to allow for future expansion. The result is a warm, inviting outdoor environment that can be enjoyed from both inside and outside the home, proving that a small amount of thoughtfully placed lighting can completely transform a landscape.
