We cultivated the soil to improve structure and prepare it for future plantings, applied a selective herbicide to help prevent future weed growth, and installed a fresh 2-inch layer of premium mulch throughout the beds. Additional improvements included trimming a front-yard tree, removing suckers at its base, defining landscape edges along walkways and the driveway, and cleaning grass encroachment from stone and brick borders.
