Watering Schedule

Proper care ensures your plants establish strong roots, resist drought, and look beautiful year-round.

Watering – Key to Healthy Growth

A straightforward watering schedule based on temperature:

  • Temperature Range / Times Per Week
    - Below 40 °F / 0 Times Per Week
    - 40–60 °F / 1 Time Per Week
    - 60–70 °F / 2 Time Per Week
    - 70–80 °F / 3-4 Times Per Week
    - 80–90 °F / 5-6 Times Per Week
    - 90–100 °F / 7 Times Per Week
    - Over 100 °F / 7 (twice daily if needed) Times Per Week
  • Run Time
    • Spray Heads: Run for 5-9 minutes
    • Rotor Heads: Run for 15-22 minutes
    • Adjust based on soil type and weather.
    • Bonus Tip: Check soil moisture 2–3 inches down—if it’s dry, water deeper. Sometimes a Fungicide may be required.
  • PLEASE NOTE:
    • Every irrigation system is a little different — and that’s okay. What works for one yard may not work for another.
      • System Types Vary: Spray heads, rotors, water pressure, and layout all affect how long and how often you should run your system.
      • Know Your Soil:
        • Clay soil holds water longer — you may need to water less often.
        • Sandy soil drains faster and usually needs more frequent watering
        • Local Water Rules Apply:
Be sure to follow your city’s watering schedule or restrictions. Most cities do allow for exceptions with a variance when you’ve installed:
          • New Sod
          • Fresh Seed
          • New Plants

Proper care maintains your plant warranty. Issues from neglect or overwatering may not be covered—if in doubt, contact us! We offer seasonal tune-ups, irrigation adjustments, and plant-health visits.
